This year, is the 90th anniversary of that battle in France .
My father’s oldest brother Henry William (Cecil) served overseas in the Canadian Infantry 75th Battalion.
His name is on the Eaton’s War Memorial that went to Ottawa when the store closed.
Another place that you will find his name is on the memorial scroll in the Church of Redeemer at Bloor and Avenue Road.
But the most impressive of all the memorials is, of course, the one at Vimy Ridge.
The twin stone pillars list the names of 11,285 Canadian soldiers who died in France and whose remains were never found.
Eaton's took pictures of all those employees who enlisted in the Great War.
